After making my debut as Dorothy in THE WIZARD OF OZ at the age of 7, I knew I was going to spend my life immersed in the art and craft of Theatre! Years later, I am still immersed, as a director, musical director, accompanist, coach, theatre educator and performer. (Hope to add published writer to that list soon!)

I have been working with adults, young adults, teens, and children age 5 – 85  for many years, and remain committed to providing scholarship, leadership and inspiration in the fields of Musical and Non-musical Theatre, Voice, Acting/Drama, Educational Theatre, Drama In Education, Youth Theatre, Theatre for Young Audiences, and Theatre for Social, Emotional and Personal Wellness.

I believe passionately in the empowering possibilities of the performing arts, and love utilizing theatre to impart valuable skills, bestow and gather knowledge, exchange energy, and share meaningful practices that can be applied both on and off of, the stage.

I have a Masters in Music and Performing Arts Professions (emphasis in Educational Theatre) from New York University.

Some Career Highlights:

1990: established and launched Children’s Civic Light Opera Theatre Company, (CCLO), which grew into one of the Los Angeles area’s most sought-after, comprehensive, diverse and celebrated Educational Theatre Companies for young artists age 10 – 25 who desired professional training - (and all the fun a great summer camp!) CCLO has prepared and supported more than 1,000 students over the years, and has received numerous awards from National Youth Arts in both Senior and Junior Division. Several alumni are currently working in television, (on screen and off), on Broadway, (on stage and off), and several have attended, or are attending, top Universities engaged in theatrical, film, or music studies, as performers, designers, producers, and/or theatre educators. CCLO inspired the creation of several youth theatre programs around the Los Angeles area.

2017: established Entr’acte Repertory Theatre Company which provides accelerated training and Broadway-quality opportunities for continuing, emerging and returning theatre artists, college-aged and older. (Look for us at Sterling’s Upstairs during the 2020 season...)

2011-2019: Built and evolved an award-winning Theatre and Performing Arts program at de Toledo High School - (the sold-out productions received multiple National Youth Arts awards, more than 20 nominations from The Jerry Herman Awards, and a BEST PRODUCTION win from The Jerry Herman Awards for URINETOWN: The Musical in 2016.  de Toledo was one of only four high schools invited to perform for the awards ceremony at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre two years in a row.)

2010-2012: Co-Created/Directed/Musical Directed Culver City Middle School Performing Arts (recipient of GLEE’s $10,000 Give-A-Note Grant in 2012)

2007-2012: Created/Directed/Musical Directed Westwood Charter Mini-Players at Westwood Charter Elementary School (Recipient of several National Youth Arts Awards in Junior Division)

Created and established Shining Star Musical Theatre at PS87 in Manhattan, NY, and Cheviot Hills Drama Camp at Rancho Park in Los Angeles, CA. Both programs remain in operation today!
